Travel website Gogobot says Honolulu is the third-most “eco-friendly” city in America.
“Living on a small(ish) island, Hawaiians understand the need to make the most of the resources they have,” says a new report. “Honolulu has been growing steadily, but the locals are dedicated to protecting their island’s natural resources.”
Apparently the folks at Gogobot have never seen the Ala Wai Canal after a rain storm, or H-1 during rush hours. But, hey, we’ll take the plug just the same.
San Francisco took top rankings followed by St. Augustine, Florida. Seattle was fourth.
Gogobot’s ratings were based on traveler feedback, public transportation usage, parks per capita and recycling centers per capita.
