Pod Squad: What Grade Would You Give The Governor?
A pair of UH political scientists rate David Ige’s first year as slightly above average, but note that his admittedly weak communication skills haven’t been tested in a crisis.
Before he was elected governor a year ago, David Ige told voters he was more fixer than flashy, and in that regard he has delivered as promised, say two University of Hawaii political scientists who joined Chad Blair for the latest installment of the Pod Squad.
But Neal Miler and Colin Moore both noted that Ige’s quiet, rather uncommunicative approach to leadership has yet to be tested in a crisis.
Milner, a retired professor, gave the governor a little lower grade than did Moore, who is a full-time faculty member.
