Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 in the United States is Hispanic Heritage Month, recognizing the contributions of Hispanic- and Latino-Americans.
That includes in Hawaii, where about 10 percent of the population is Hispanic, “the 21st largest Hispanic statewide population share nationally,” says the Pew Research Center.
To mark the occasion, the folks at WalletHub — ever eager to produce new data — have released an analysis of 2016’s States with the Most Integrated Hispanics.
Here’s how Hawaii looks when it comes to “Hispanic Integration (that is, comparing Hispanics versus whites, “who represent the majority of the population, as a way to measure integration and normalize for differences that exist among states”). The average score is 25.
