Civil Beat is expanding its Election Day coverage this year with plans for streaming video, interviews and live illustrations.
We’ll have reporters and photographers in the field around Oahu throughout the day and evening Tuesday. Staff writers Chad Blair, Anita Hofschneider, Nathan Eagle, Nick Grube and others will be gathering voter perspectives and candidate impressions.

In the Civil Beat newsroom, Opinion Editor Todd Simmons will host streaming coverage of the national and state elections on Facebook Live starting at noon.
He’ll be joined by elected officials and party representatives, including U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono, state Rep. Chris Lee, House Minority Leader Beth Fukumoto-Chang and Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign Director Dylan Beesley.
Also in the newsroom, the artist behind the Civil Scribble, intern Caleb Hartsfield will be creating cartoons on the fly as election results come in from around the state and country.
Join us at civillbeat.org, on Facebook (both our main page and the Civil Beat Politics group) and on Twitter as we bring you breaking news from what promises to be a historic Election Day.
