The population of Hawaii grew by about 3,400 people between July 2015 and this July.

The current estimate for the daily population, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Census Bureau, is 1,428,557.

Here’s a couple more Hawaii Census nuggets:

  • there was an increase of nine people per day;
  • there were 51 births per day and 33 deaths;
  • 20 more people moved into the state from foreign countries than those who moved out; and
  • 27 more people moved to other states in the U.S. than those moving here.

Thanks to the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism for all that data.

In national Census news, Utah was the fastest-growing state.
