Ignorance by the people is a valid reason for a "messed up" government. When people understand that the government works for us and not the other way around, then change will occur.

It died because too many people nokea. You can't just let politicians and big business run wild and hope for the best. That's just lazy wishful thinking. Passing more laws is not going to fix this either. Only a healthy fear of political repercussions will stop the shenanigans, and that means unseating a large percentage of incumbents.
