Firearms - not motor vehicles - are the leading cause of death nationwide for children and young adults. We highly regulate motor vehicles including requiring a license for drivers. It is not illogical to also regulate access to and the use of firearms. Several other states have similar restrictions on firearms. I and thousands of other residents support Hawai'i's efforts to do so.

It is such a small number of people under 1% utilizing AR15's for mass shootings. Mass shooting are not an everyday occurrence in the nation. We have people utilizing cars that are killing people daily nationwide. Why not ban cars? It is the instrument that is used to kill people. What is really needed is a mega sized jail to put away law breakers making sure that their full term is served.

Big fan of these comics but this one does miss the point about the second amendment. Framing this as a hunting issue, while appropriately absurd, is misleading.
