Natasha Maʻafala is a community engagement intern for Honolulu Civil Beat.

Natasha was born and raised on the west side of Oʻahu. She graduated from Waiʻanae High School in 2025 and was part of their Searider Productions media program, where she competed in national and statewide broadcast competitions.

Natasha is currently a first year at the University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa, double majoring in journalism and communications. She really loves visual storytelling and highlighting local voices. Natasha hopes to work in the broadcasting industry and land a position at a local news station.

Outside of work and school, Natasha loves craft projects, lei making and surrounding herself with loved ones.
